OS Field Boundaries Data Download
A new data layer is now available for purchase, offering detailed field boundaries from Ordnance Survey. This data is essential for accurate mapping and planning. Learn more about how this data is helping to protect Britain’s landscapes here.
Feature Codes on Print Legend
Based on your feedback, feature codes will now display on the print legend by default, making it easier to interpret your maps at a glance.
Data Layer Updates
We’ve added and updated several data layers to enhance your mapping and planning capabilities:
- New: Great Crested Newt Strategic Opportunity Areas (England): A comprehensive dataset covering England.
- Updated: Great Crested Newt Strategic Opportunity Areas (Counties): An aggregate of the individual county datasets, providing more localised data.
- New: SFI Agroforestry: A specialised data layer supporting sustainable agroforestry practices.
- New: Heritage at Risk: A data layer focusing on areas with heritage sites at risk, helping you plan with conservation in mind.

Improvements to Land App Mobile
The Land App Mobile experience just got better! We’ve made several updates to improve usability and performance on mobile devices.
- Draw and View Area/Polygon Features Using the General Data Collection Survey: You can now draw and view area or polygon features directly in the General Data Collection survey on Land App Mobile. This will help you collect more detailed data when out in the field.
- Trace Polygons While Walking Around: Make the most of our mobile capabilities by tracing polygons on the move.
- Landscape Photos Captured Correctly: Photos taken in landscape mode are now correctly captured as landscape photos within your map, ensuring that your visual data is accurately represented.
- Save Photos to Device Gallery: You can now save photos taken on Land App directly to your device’s gallery. This makes it easier to access and share photos taken during fieldwork.
SFI Validator – New Tool in the Plan Toolbox
Introducing the SFI Validator, a powerful new tool in our plan toolbox. This tool helps you validate your Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) plans against various rules, identifying potential mistakes before they become issues.

Our Portfolio Summary feature has received a significant update. It now offers a more streamlined and user-friendly interface, allowing you to better manage and oversee all your land portfolios in one place.
- Download Filtered Features into the BNG Metrics Calculator Spreadsheet You can now download your filtered features directly into the BNG Metrics Calculator spreadsheet. This enhancement will make it easier to analyse and report on biodiversity net gain metrics.
- Filter by Feature Condition on Baseline Habitat Assessments and Land Management Plans We’ve added a new filtering capability that allows you to filter features by condition when working on Baseline Habitat Assessments and Land Management Plans. This feature will help you quickly identify areas that require attention and make more informed decisions.
- Click on Features or Plans to See More Information Getting detailed information about specific features or plans is now easier than ever. Simply click on any feature or plan within your map to view more information, helping you make better-informed decisions.
